About Previwo
Previwo is a Norwegian biotechnology company dedicated to improving fish health in the aquaculture industry. We have developed a method to identify and select specific strains of probiotic bacteria, using naturally occurring bacteria to help strengthen fish health.
The start of Previwo
Previwo originates from the research of Professor Henning Sørum at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Over many years, Sørum has conducted extensive research on fish diseases. When he was approached by a fish farm facing severe wound challenges, he developed a new approach to fish health based on the use of the fish’s own bacteria. This marked the beginning of Previwo.

Naturally occurring bacteria represent a complex field of research. All living organisms host a large and diverse microbial community. Mapping and understanding how these bacteria function individually—and, importantly, how they interact—is highly complex. This is why investing in new knowledge is essential to us.
